Center Valley, Pa. - The 2008 Patriot League football season is just two weeks away, and followers of the seven schools can get a glimpse at some of the top student-athletes in the League through videos and feature articles at www.patriotleague.com.
Two student-athletes from each of the institutions will be spotlighted, with one from each school in a video clip and one in a feature profile. Interviews were conducted with student-athletes that attended Patriot League Football Media Day on July 31.
All seven video clips are already available on the audio/video page under the multimedia section at the Patriot League website, which can also be found by clicking here. Users can sign up for a free Patriot League All-Access account to view the clips, which feature the following players:
Bucknell junior linebacker Sam Nana-Sinkam
Colgate junior wide receiver Pat Simonds
Fordham senior wide receiver Richard Rayborn
Georgetown junior offensive lineman Dan Matheny
Holy Cross senior quarterback Dominic Randolph
Lafayette senior offensive lineman Leo Plenski
Lehigh senior defensive back Brendan Van Ackeren
In addition to the video clips, student-athlete feature profiles for each of the seven teams have begun and can be found under the features tab at front page or football page on the Patriot League website. The features will run throughout the next two weeks heading into the 2008 season, and will be released in alphabetical order. The first feature takes a look at

All seven Patriot League schools have started their official practice time for the season. Colgate will open the year for the Patriot League when it visits Stony Brook on Aug. 30. The entire League is in action the next week, with home openers for Holy Cross (Massachusetts), Lehigh (Drake), Bucknell (Duquesne) and Fordham (Rhode Island) and opening road dates for Georgetown (Howard) and Lafayette (Marist). The Hoyas and Leopards face off in the Patriot League opener on Sept. 13 in Easton. Defending champion Fordham begins the season as the 2008 preseason pick to win the title again by the Patriot League football coaches and sports information directors.
