Four Holy Cross Football Players Selected To New England All-Star Team
Holy Cross senior wide receiver Jon Brock (Acworth, Ga.), senior kick returner Brett McDermott (Mansfield, Mass.), senior placekicker Matt Partain (Libertyville, Ill.) and senior quarterback Dominic Randolph (Amelia, Ohio) have been selected to the 2008 New England FCS All-Star team, as announced by the New England Football Writers. The four Crusaders were among 30 players from around New England named to the squad. The members of the team will be honored at the New England Football Writers Banquet on Dec. 11 in Wilmington, Mass.

Holy Cross Women's Basketball Downed By #1 Connecticut, 96-37
Connecticut's Tahirah Williams totaled 17 points and seven rebounds to lead the No. 1 Huskies to a 96-37 victory over the Holy Cross women's basketball team at Gampel Pavilion on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-6 on the season while the Huskies improve to 6-0. Junior guard Briana McFadden (Wheaton, Md.) led the Crusaders' offense with 10 points, all in the second half, while chipping in two rebounds, two steals and one assist. Sophomore forward Alyssa May (Oradell, N.J.) had nine points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal while Whitney Fremeau (Manchester, N.H.) finished the game with nine points, six rebounds and one assist.

Crusaders Suffer 76-66 Road Loss At Yale
Yale guard Alex Zampier totaled 28 points, four rebounds and four steals, as the Bulldogs posted a 76-66 victory over the Holy Cross men's basketball team at the John J. Lee Amphitheater. Sophomore guard Andrew Beinert (Floral Park, N.Y.) led the Crusaders with 15 points, while hitting five of seven shots from three-point range. Freshman guard R.J. Evans (Salem, Conn.) and senior center Greg McCarthy (Mansfield, Mass.) both added 2 points for Holy Cross.
The Crusaders fall to 2-6 on the season with the loss, while Yale improves to 2-4.

Women's Basketball Plays #1 Connecticut
The Crusaders and the Huskies will make their 19th appearance on the hardwood with Connecticut holding an impressive 15-2 series advantage. The Crusaders picked up their two wins against Connecticut at the Hart Center on February 1, 1984 by a score of 89-57 and on December 4, 1986, winning 65-49. The last win for the Huskies was on Nov. 14, 2007, with a 91-36 victory at Gampbel Pavilion. The game against the Huskies will be featured on Worcester's WWFX 100.1 FM and www.worcesterpike.com with Bob Fouracre doing the play-by-play. The game can also be found on Connecticut's WTIC 1080 AM/UConn Radio Network as Bob Joyce will do the play-by-play and Kara Wolters with color.
